Cash and Kind Transfer Schemes (CWKS)

The Cash and Kind Transfer Schemes (CWKS) were launched by the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers' Welfare in India to provide financial support and essential goods to farmers and rural households. The primary objective of CWKS is to address the welfare and investment needs of marginalized and disadvantaged groups within the agricultural sector. By offering both cash transfers and in-kind assistance, the scheme aims to enhance the livelihoods of those who are often overlooked. Eligibility for the CWKS is primarily targeted towards marginalized and disadvantaged groups. Specifically, applicants must be farmers or rural households. There are no age or income restrictions, but preference is given to those who are part of Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), or Other Backward Classes (OBC). Individuals who do not fall under the categories of farmers or rural households are ineligible for the CWKS. For example, urban residents, non-farming professionals, or individuals with a steady income from non-agricultural sources cannot apply. To apply for the CWKS, applicants must provide the following documents: 1. Aadhaar card 2. Income certificate (if applicable) 3. Bank passbook or bank statement 4. Land ownership documents (if applicable) 5. Self-declaration of being a farmer or rural household.
